Our Maine getaway

We spent a few days last week in Ocean Park, Maine.  It should actually be called Heaven because that's what it feels like!

The following shots were taken along a coastal walk called "The marginal way" in Ogunquit, Maine.  We set out just before lunch and stopped part way and ate our lunch.  Our daughter Rebekah had never done this walk before.  Wendell and I do it in the Fall when we come for our anniversary.  She loved it and was taking photos all the time!

We also had our share of retail therapy at the outlets.  As we have all lost over 30lbs each recently, we were in desperate need of new clothes. It's always good to have an excuse to shop!

Wendell in J. Crew watching the bags while we were in the changing rooms.

We really had a lovely break and can't wait for mid August when we go back again for 2 1/2 weeks!

I started my quilting class last week and it's going to be fun.  I have done my homework and am ready for Wednesday's class.  Here is the fabric which the quilt will be made up from.

This is one for us to keep, so I'm anxious to see how it turns out.  Will keep you posted.

Quilting ABC's

I  have signed up for another quilting class.  This one is for an oversized lap quilt.  I haven't bought the fabric yet, but this is what the finished result will be (with different fabric obviously).

As you can see, it teaches many different patterns.  Class begins May 16th and goes for six weeks (once a week for three hours).  I am excited to see how this turns out.  I'll let you know when it's finished.  We are off to Ocean Park Maine tomorrow for a few days at the ocean.  I will look around for some fabric while we are there.  I'll be back next week with some photos of our getaway!

A name and a blessing

In our church, we baptize children at the age of eight.  As an infant, children are given a name and a blessing.  Yesterday was our little Norah`s occasion.  Family and friends gathered for a special day.  Her Daddy gave her the blessing assisted by her Grandpas and others.

This is our family minus our oldest

Here are both  sides of the family.  Kelsi has seven siblings and the oldest couldn`t make it.

The proud Mommy & Daddy with their little angel!

It was a lovely day for all of us!
